Elizabeth Margaret Gebhard

Betty attended Wyandanch High School, class of 1962, where she was awarded the Golden Key for athletics. She later went on to continue her education at Dowling College.

Betty was the Resident Management Coordinator of the greenhouse at New Horizons and in November of 2022, it was named in her honor as Gebhard’s Greenhouse. She took great pride in taking care of all the plants and worked countless hours to keep the greenhouse flourishing. She was also a member of the Green Thumb Gardening Club where Betty held workshops and greenhouse seminars for the residents. Betty also loved animals. In the outdoor garden, she helped raise baby ducklings until they were old enough to be on their own. Above all else, Betty was passionate about her grandchildren. She cherished every moment she had with them and taught them many life lessons. Her impact as a grandparent left an indelible mark on all of their lives.

Betty is survived by her loving daughters, Nancy McCaffrey (Kevin) of Far Hills, NJ, and Caroline Weadock of Clinton, MA; her seven adored grandchildren, Morgan, Courtney, Patrick, Katie, Jack, Brooke, Drew; and her cherished siblings Irene Witthoft (Stephen) of Northport, NY, and Frank “Sonny” Ferrandiz.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 10:30AM in the New Horizons Assisted Living Community Chapel, 400 Hemenway St., Marlborough, MA 01752.
