Private family funeral services will be held Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the Duckett-J. S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute in Sudbury for Charles E. Harvey who died at his home in Marlborough, Massachusetts July 19, 2016. He was 86 and the beloved husband of Doris (Krausbeck) Harvey and devoted father of Caroline Harvey Rodberg of Watertown, Massachusetts and Lucinda Katherine Derby of Marlborough, Massachusetts. His family was at his side at the time of his passing.
Born in Boston August 13, 1929, he was the son of the late Roland Truman Harvey and Lucinda (Trainor) Harvey. Raised and educated in Watertown, Massachusetts, he was a graduate of St. Patrick High School, Class of 1947. He held a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy and Chemistry from the New England College of Pharmacy in Boston (now part of Northeastern University) in 1951 and in 1959 received his Master’s Degree of Education from Boston University.
Formerly of Watertown, Massachusetts and Kaiserslautern, Germany he was employed as a Pharmacist in the Military Hospital at Landstuhl, Germany.
Additional survivors of Mr. Harvey are his two sons in law, Neil Rodberg of Watertown and Robert Derby of Martinsburg, West Virginia and his grandson, Samuel Joseph Rodberg of Watertown. He was the brother of the late Paul Harvey, Anne Margaret Murray and Katherine Gray and brother in law of Marion Harvey of Tamarac, Florida and the late John Murray and Herbert Gray.
Mr. Harvey was a Korean War Veteran and will be buried with Military Honors at a private interment service at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon.
