She is predeceased by her mother Anna Mark Adler (1982), father Frank Mark (1944), and brother Frank Mark Jr. (1949).
She is survived by daughters Anastasia and Stephanie, brother James Mark (Cincinnati, OH & St. Petersburg, FL), cousins in Germany, as well as four beautiful, adoring grandchildren that she doted on constantly and loved intensely. For Lisa, sun rose and set with those four kids and she had a special relationship with each one.
Lisa attended G.A.R. Memorial High School in her hometown of Wilkes-Barre, PA, and graduated with distinction from Wyoming Valley Hospital Nursing School.
She spent most of her adult years in New York and New Jersey having worked at St. Luke’s Hospital in NYC and Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey. Lisa held many head nurse positions during her nursing career in specialties such as allergy & immunology, day-surgery, bloodless medicine, and pediatric craniofacial reconstructive surgery. In retirement, she served as nurse at blood pressure clinics in Watertown and Framingham, and was proud to serve on the Board of Trustees at her condo association.
Lisa’s great joy was singing. She sang for 45 years in Greek Orthodox choirs of St. Athanasios in Paramus, NJ and Taxiarchae in Watertown, MA. She was an alto that could harmonize with any piece of music and performed in many combined choirs for religious dignitaries. She was a member of Sts. Anargyroi Church in Marlborough, MA.
Lisa, fluent in German and the regional dialect Swabian, had a natural love of language and culture; she thoroughly enjoyed learning about and speaking any language, as well as the cultural traditions of that nation. From this love of learning, Lisa enjoyed traveling to Germany, Greece, Egypt as well as throughout the southwest U.S. Native American sites.
