Thomas Keith "Tom" Overton

Thomas “Tom” Keith Overton, 69, of Stuarts Draft was suddenly called home, Friday, April 7, 2023. Born February 20, 1954 in Tennessee, he was a son of the late Thomas J. and Virginia Hignite Overton. Tom retired from Hershey’s of Stuarts Draft as a maintenance mechanic. He and his wife Cathy were the former owners and operators of T & C Restaurant in Waynesboro. He was a car master filling his time working on many projects for others, as well as, getting his current race car ready for the track. Honestly, there wasn’t much that Tom couldn’t fix. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Tom was a man of faith, which could be seen by his compassion for others. He never missed the opportunity to witness, teach or help someone in need. His story telling, often quite humorous, vast over all knowledge and genuine love for his fellow man will forever live on in the many hearts he touched. He is survived by the love of his life, Cathy Harless Overton; sons, Thomas “T.J.” Overton (B.J.), Justin Overton (Ginny), Heath Whitt (Kaitlyn), James Whitt, and Jonah Whitt (Hanna); grandchildren, Sam Overton, Abby Overton, Aleafia Whitt, Sawyer Whitt, Lilly Whitt, Cora Hudson and Evan Hudson; sister, Judy Miller (Jim); nephew, Richard Miller; and too many friends to list. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 13, 2023 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes from noon until 2:00 p.m. A celebration of life service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Theresa Moore officiating.
