Dorothy Elizabeth Cash Snider

Dorothy Elizabeth Cash Snider, 90, of Fishersville, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Birch Gardens. She was born on January 17, 1926, a daughter of the late Boyd S. and Ruby Robertson Cash.

Dorothy was a lifelong and active member of Fishersville Baptist Church. She taught Bible School and Sunday School. Dorothy was a member of the church’s Sonshine class. She was a wonderful cook and greatly enjoyed sharing her talent with family, friends, and fellow church members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis G. Snider and her grandson, Jeffrey Moore. Survivors include her children, Gary Snider and wife, Kathy of Virginia Beach and Pamela Moore and husband, James W. Moore, III of Stuarts Draft; four grandchildren, Allison, Erin, and Jason Snider and Kevin Moore; five great- grandchildren; as well as a special first cousin, Norma Jean Cullen.

Following a private burial, a memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Fishersville Baptist Church, 1518 Jefferson Hwy, Fishersville, VA 22939, with Pastor Steve Lookabaugh officiating.

There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dorothy’s memory to Fishersville Baptist Church, P.O. Box 82, Fishersville, VA 22939 and/or the Augusta Health Foundation (Hospice of the Shenandoah), P.O. Box 1000, Fishersville, VA 22939.
