Beverley "Butch" Humphries

Born June 26, 1944 in Augusta County, she was a daughter of the late James Painter and Mary (Ramsey) Snead.

Butch was a faithful member of Stuarts Draft Baptist Church. She greatly enjoyed gardening, cooking for family and friends, talking on the phone, and reading. She will be remembered as a loving mother, “MawMaw”, aunt, and friend to many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Russell Humphries, Jr.; and two sisters, Nancy Martin and Jean Massie.

Survivors include her four children and one grandson who was like a son, Cherie Anderson (Stephen Huffman) of Waynesboro, Terri Gebhard of Lexington, VA, Susan Perry (Denny) of Raphine, Jason Humphries (Laura) of Vesuvius, and Christopher Curlis of Stuarts Draft; grandchildren, Edward Gebhard, Jr., Denny “D.J.” Perry, Russell Perry, Tyler Perry, and also Trevor Knott, Caleb Via, Courtney Carter, Tristan Campbell, and Waylon Via; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 1870 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Stuarts Draft Baptist Church, 2517 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Steeles Tavern, VA.

Active pallbearers will be Christopher Curlis, Jason Humphries, Raleigh Anderson, Edward Gebhard, Jr., Eddie Gebhard, Mike Floyd, Caleb Via, and Russell Perry.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stuarts Draft Baptist Church.
