William Raymond Ponsoldt (“Bill”), a long-time resident of Stuart, Florida, died September 17, 2017 at 76. He is survived by Mariane, his beloved wife and soulmate of 53 years. Bill was an amazing father and grandfather to his three children and eight grand children: William Jr., his wife Kimberly, and their children: Katherine and William III; Tracey, her husband Carl Austin Powers, and their children: Cullen, Connor, and Carlene; and Christopher, his wife Donna, and their three children: Taylor, Johnathan, and Victoria.
Bill along with his brother James, who now lives in Athens, Georgia with his wife Susan, grew up in New Jersey. Bill met his wife Mariane while still in high school. At that time, he also met Mariane’s sibling, Helen Gazzola, who was like a sister to him. He received a Bachelor’s Degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University and later an honorary doctorate from the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology in Palo Alto, California.
Bill, an adored patriarch, was a successful entrepreneur and businessman. He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife and family by his side. His favorite hobbies included fishing, diving and hunting and he spent his life doing what he loved.
Visitation will be held at Aycock Funeral Home, 505 South Federal Highway in Stuart on Friday, September 22nd from 6:00-8:00 PM. We will celebrate Bill’s life with a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, September 23rd at 10:00am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City.
