Ursula B. James, 94, of Stuart, Florida, passed away on January 17, 2023 at home surrounded by family. She was predeceased by her husband R. Edward James, who passed away in 1996. She is survived by two sisters, Barbara Coppola and Carole King; two sisters-in-law, Sayoko Boole and Hazel James; many nieces and nephews and their families; son, Alan James; daughter, Susan James Knoetgen (Pete); and grandchildren Peter D. Knoetgen and Philip J. Knoetgen (Dorothy). She was born in Ohio in 1928, one of ten children and a few weeks later the family moved to Miami, Florida. She attended Waldo High School in Waldo, FL, graduating in 1946. In Miami, FL, she met and married Ed James of Eufaula, AL in 1952 and settled in Stuart, Florida.
Ursula was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ and a charter member of Tropical Farms Baptist Church since 1962, where she was an active leader in Sunday school, bible studies, and the women’s group of prayer warriors. She lived a modest and humble life and began her days with early morning scripture reading and prayer.
A memorial service for Ursula will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Tropical Farms Baptist Church, 1555 Southwest Kanner Highway, Stuart, FL 34997. A private graveside service will be on Sunday, January 22, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Fernhill Memorial Gardens & Mausoleum, 1501 South Kanner Highway, Stuart, FL 34994. There, she will be laid to rest with her husband, Ed.
