David Allen Belcher Jr. was suddenly called home by the Lord on October 10, 2024. David Allen was born in Richmond VA on July 23, 1990. Having grown up in Middlesex County on the Rappahannock River, he developed a passion for fishing at an early age. For the past two years he lived in Stuart, Florida, near his parents, “Living the Dream” on the Treasure Coast.
David Allen was a giver and showed his kindness by quietly helping others when in need and never asked for anything in return. He spent most of his adult life in the Marine Industry and was Dock Master at Manatee Marina in Port Salerno, FL. There, he touched many with his knowledge and passion for boating and fishing. His favorite days were spent fishing with either his Dad, Ed, Mike, Kevin, or Ryan. He loved walking Rigger, his four-legged furry son, to the inlet to see if the fish were biting. Many times, at the marina, David Allen was introduced to new people because Rigger knew no strangers. They brought each other a tremendous amount of joy.
While growing up in Virginia, David Allen treasured his lifelong friendships and often shared some of the shenanigans with Josh, Brice, or Duane along with many of his fishing trips with Chris. As a young adult, he lived in Hawaii where he spent his time fishing the islands and learning the local customs. These life experiences and his kind heart shaped him into the man we all knew and loved. David Allen cherished his family, his friends, his puppy, and the Lord and never took any of them for granted.
David Allen was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John A. Waldrop, Jr, and his uncle, Col. Thomas H. Felts, Sr. He is survived by his devoted parents, David A. and Wendy W. Belcher, his loving brother, Zachary M. Belcher, his adorable puppy Rigger, his maternal grandmother, Nancy A. Waldrop, his paternal grandmother, R. Gaylen Wilson, her husband Thomas C. Wilson, his paternal grandfather, Thomas F. Belcher, his wife, Vickie B. Belcher, his Uncle John Allen Waldrop, III, (Joann), his aunt, Kimberly F. Thomas, (Larry), his aunt Shannon W.
