Anne Upson Smith

She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1928, daughter of Mark and Anne Upson. She lived in Stuart, FL having moved from Grand Junction, CO in 1986.

Anne graduated from College Preparatory School in 1946, then from Finch College in 1948. She married Leonard S. “Steve” Smith in 1950.

She was a past member of the Junior League, was co chairman of the First WCET Action auction and was on the board of the Cincinnati Psychiatric Clinic. She did many years of volunteer work. She enjoyed golf, tennis, bridge, games, and owned a small clothing manufacturing business in Stuart.

Survivors include her four children, Anne S. Kerckhoff, Stuart, FL; Christie B. Smith, Cincinnati, OH; Steve Smith (Caroline), Atlanta GA; and Mark Smith, Portland, OR; She had ten grandchildren, Christie Vatterott, Arthur and Stephen Kerckhoff; Kelly Mullaney, Lindsey Ritts, and Kate Hamilton; McKenna and Connor Smith; and Grayden and Emerson Smith. She had ten great grandchildren. Two brothers survive her, Stuart B. Upson, (Barbie) Darien, CT and Herbert C. Upson, (Joan) Palm Desert, CA
