Dolores “Dee” Ann McMahon (nee Giunta) of Stony Point, NY, 80 years old, entered eternal rest and was reunited with her husband Eric on September 3, 2022. Dee was born to Catherine (nee Aquino) and Raffaele Giunta at Manhattan Hospital on July 7, 1942. She grew up in Astoria, NY, and graduated from William Cullen Bryant High School in Queens.
Dee worked at Dexter/Color Press in West Nyack, NY, where she was referred to as “Miss Reliable” for her ability to help whenever needed. In her early 20s, she moved to Tomkins Cove with her parents and met Eric McMahon, the love of her life, at The Wayne House in Stony Point. Dee and Eric were married on May 8, 1971, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Tomkins Cove, and spiritually spent every day of their beautiful 50-year marriage together. In 2004, they moved from Tomkins Cove to Stony Point. Dee devoted her life to making a home in which she could care deeply for her husband and daughter and fulfill a lifelong promise to her sister to care for her niece as her own. Dee enjoyed traveling, especially going on cruises with Eric and many of their close friends.
Dee was preceded in death by her beloved husband Eric, her parents, and her sisters Catherine DeGraw and Rosemary Kern. She is survived by her daughter Kristine (Judd) Mashaw, niece Donnamarie DeGraw, grand-nephew Todd Damas, sister Marianne (Bruce) Rifflard, her brother Salvatore “Sal” (Siobhan) Giunta, brothers-in-law Gerard “Jerry” Kern and L. Charles (Diane) Rose, cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 9-10 am, at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in Stony Point, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately following at 10:30 am in the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Stony Point, NY.
