Carolyn will be remembered as a caring, thoughtful and strong willed woman who never let life’s challenges stop or control her. In 1986 she achieved her dream of joining the RCMP and after graduating Depot she was first posted to Penticton B.C. In the summer of 1988 she met her husband Keith, who was working as a summer student at the detachment. In the early years of their relationship Keith was accepted into the RCMP and was then posted to Spruce Grove AB. After they married in July of 1990, Carolyn accepted a medical discharge from the RCMP and then joined her husband in Alberta. It is here she began her next chapter in her life of starting a family, first Kelsey then 4 ½ years later Nathan. As she watched her kids grow she loved watching Kelsey’s soccer and Nathan’s hockey games. In her spare time at home, she enjoyed listening to audio books, sitting in the sunshine, and spending time with her family. She always put others before herself, and make it a point to send a message for peoples birthdays or special occasion.
Carolyn will be forever loved by her husband and best friend of over 31 years Keith; her daughter Kelsey; her son Nathan; her mother Phyllis; her sisters Peggy (Tom), nephew Ryan, and Judy (John), nieces Rosslyn and Andrea. Carolyn is also survived by many extended family and in laws from B.C. as well as by many friends.
Carolyn was predeceased by her father Arthur.
The family would like to thank Renee and Ellen who worked closely with Carolyn over the years and became more like family. Your friendship brought so much joy and laughter. To the numerous ladies from Homecare who became close friends, we thank you.
If friends desire, donations for audio books may be made to the Stony Plain Library, www.mysppl.ca/support-sppl/donations in Carolyn’s memory.
