Janet Langston of Valley Springs, California passed away quietly on the morning of June 20, 2021 from complications of stomach cancer. She was a kind, gentle, and loving person with a great sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian Q. Galapia and Lupe Avila. She is survived by her spouse, Glen; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Janet enjoyed doing needlepoint, watering her garden, reading her gossip magazines, and experimenting with different hair colors and hairstyles on herself. She especially enjoyed socializing at Jackson Rancheria, where she had many friends. She was beloved aunt to her 4 nieces and 4 nephews, and great-aunt to 5 great-nephews. She was generous and caring to them as if they were her own children. Janet loved her cats, Budzie and Fifi, and often fed stray animals that visited her garden. Time permitting, she would call her siblings, cousins, nieces, and friends almost daily, just to check on them.
Janet was born and raised in Stockton, California. She attended local schools; Lafayette Grammar School, John Marshall Middle School, and graduated from Edison High School. Janet was married to Glen Langston for 33 years. Prior to her marriage, she worked as a beautician.
Janet was able to smile and say a group prayer with loved ones before passing. She will always be missed.
Visitation at DeYoung Memorial Chapel 2-6pm Rosary at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
