Geraldine I. Lounsbury

Geraldine Ione Lounsbury, 92 years, of Stockton, California, peacefully passed away in her home on April, 10, 2022, surrounded by her family. Geraldine was born Geraldine Ione Benson on July 5, 1929, in Rosebud, Montana.

Geraldine was preceded in her passing by her loving husband of 49 years, William Miller Lounsbury, her parents Ben and Marie Benson, her brothers Benny and Robert, and her sisters Marie Newton and Sigrid Stebbins. She is survived by her beloved sister-in-law Donna Benson (Montana); children, Harold (Marilyn) Lounsbury, Debra Lounsbury, Gayl Lounsbury, and Kim Lounsbury; grandchildren, Tara Wetherelt, Jeremy (Alissa) Wetherelt, Blake (Brittany) Lounsbury, and Andrew (Kristin) Lounsbury; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and their families. Geraldine is also survived by several relatives residing in Montana, Arizona, and Norway.

Geraldine attended Harper Hospital School of Nursing (Michigan) and received her Registered Nursing degree and Chapman University (California) and received her bachelor’s degree. Geraldine’s life-time career was dedicated as a Registered Nurse for over forty years with the majority of her career devoted to St. Joseph’s Hospital (Stockton). She was passionate about high quality patient care and the inclusion of families.

Geraldine will forever be remembered for her abundance love of family, overwhelming compassion and generosity, and her true dedication of friendship to whomever she meets.

The family is most grateful for the kindness and care of the Hospice of San Joaquin. Their support and kindness are sincerely appreciated. Family has requested that services are private.
