Stockton - Danette Gay Curtis was born November 15, 1963 in Stockton, California and passed away December 20, 2020 in Lodi, California.
Danette was married for over thirty-four years to the love of her life, Joseph (Joe) Curtis. Danette and Joe were married and made their life in Stockton. Danette lived her life for the dash, she was often heard saying, ""the dates signify beginning and end, but what matters most is what happens in the dash."" She did just that, her dash was full of joy, laughter and fun. Her dash came with unforgettable hugs and love that will not be forgotten.
For more than twenty years Danette served the Diocese of Stockton. Eighteen years at St. Luke School where Danette managed the office, taught, and could be seen doing a little of everything. Danette loved the students of St. Luke, and was invested in their growth even in their high school years and beyond. Danette was also involved in parish life at St. Luke. She was active in the RCIA program for many years and, with Joe, re-established the ICF Chapter 138. Danette was a staple at St. Luke, and just two years ago, promoted with the eighth graders to St. Mary's High School. Danette loved the opportunity to continue her ministry and begin her new adventure. She quickly made a new community of colleagues and friends.
