Larry Tatum

Larry William Tatum, 64, of Ellenwood, GA passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 unexpectedly. Mr. Tatum was born in Atlanta, GA and raised in the South East Atlanta area, Known as Cabbage Town. Larry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an advid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. After his retirement Larry managed Demooney Lake , a private lake in Atlanta, GA where his family helped him with the day to day operations. It was truly a family business where his wife, children, grandchildren, and close friends assisted Larry operating the facility day and night. The time spent at the lake will be the center of so many great life long memories and stories. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, uncle, but most of all a true friend. He is already missed by everyone he knew, but his legacy continues through his son, daughter, and grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his father George Tatum, and brother Dennis (Dimbo) Tatum. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sherry Tatum of Ellenwood, GA; son and daughter in-law Matthew and Heather Tatum of Ellenwood, GA; daughter and son in-law Amy and Corey Maltbie of Jackson, GA; mother Dorothy (Dot) Tatum Harrison of Ellenwood, GA; grandchildren Walker Carawan and Gavin Carawan both of Jackson, GA, Jackson Tatum of Ellenwood, GA; brothers and sisters in-law Ricky and Diane Tatum of Jackson, GA, Gary and Cindy Tatum of McDonough, GA; sisters and brothers in-law Janice and Rob Hampton of Social Circle, GA, Diane and Joe Cornish of Powder Springs, GA; Donna and Steve Scott of Alabama; Close life long family friends Mike and Carolyn Head of Ellenwood, GA; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel With Pastor Jose Marquez officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Stockbridge, GA. The family will receive friends Friday, January 15, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Horis A.
