Geraldine Summer

Born August 29, 1922 in Orland, Indiana. She was a resident of Stockbridge, GA for 16 years after moving from Fort Pierce where she had spent first 15 years of retirement. Prior to that she spent most of her time raising her family in Ypsilanti, MI for 34 years. She grew up and spent her early married years in Hillsdale and Reading Michigan.

She attended Rock Springs Baptist Church in Morrow, GA

Survivors include her three children Shirley Edler and husband Bill of Ellenwood,GA; Dale Summer and wife Kathy of Davidson, NC; and David Summer and wife Kathleen of Valencia, CA. One sister Sarah Van Aken of Hillsdale, MI. She also had six grandchildren, Teri Edler of Stockbridge, GA, Colleen Hinesley of Franklin, GA, Bill Edler of Locust Grove, GA, Jonathan Summer of Valencia, CA, Anna Summer of Valencia, CA and Dennis O’Connor of Davidson, NC and eight great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Visitation Monday, July 17, 2017 from 12 to 1 P.M. prior to the funeral service at 1 P.M. at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home-Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Rd., Stockbridge, GA, officiated by Rev Tommy Amons, of Rock Springs Baptist Church, Morrow, GA

Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Fort Pierce, FL with her husband Allen Summer.
