Dorothy “Dot” Crim, 73, passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. She was born September 1, 1943, in Forest Park, GA, to Laura Belle Wilson Callaway and Thomas Harris Callaway. Dot was the beloved wife of the late Claude Julius Crim Jr. of West Columbia, SC. She was a fiercely devoted mother of son Robert Shane Crim and daughter-in-law Michelle Lea Crim of Stockbridge, GA, as well as son Anthony Julius Crim and his girlfriend Sabrina Dawn Walls of Stockbridge, GA. Dot is also survived by her grandsons Bryant Matthew Barrow and Stephen Noah Barrow of Friendsville, TN; her brothers, Benjamin Callaway of Forest Park, GA, Clifford Callaway of McDonough, GA, and Harris Callaway of Forest Park, GA; her beloved sister, Betty Joyce Griffin of Locust Grove, GA; her niece, Lauren Beth Zenna, whom she loved like a daughter, and Lauren’s husband Jason Zenna of Locust Grove, GA; and great nieces, her “little women,” Laura Belle Zenna and Lilian Beth Zenna, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews and legions of friends she loved like family.
Dot loved life and lived every day to the fullest. She was fierce, strong, and full of a fire that even cancer could not diminish. She was an unstoppable force that everyone she met was caught up in. She will forever be remembered for the lessons she taught us, for the memories she made with us, and for the absolute certainty that though we mourn her loss, we are better for having had her in our lives.
Services will be held on March 17, 2017, at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home – Fairview Chapel at 2:00pm, with officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends March 16, 2017, from 2:00pm-4:00pm and from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the funeral home.
