Thomas Jerry Patterson

Thomas Jerry Patterson, 82, of Statesville, North Carolina passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Gordon Hospice House of Statesville. Jerry was born on September 14, 1942 in Mooresville, NC to the late Fred M. Patterson and Fannie Cowan Patterson.

Jerry graduated from R.A. Clement High School in Cleveland, North Carolina. He retired from Levi Strauss & Company where he worked as a truck driver. He drove a truck for over 33 years. During his trucking career, he received several awards for safety and for Driver of the Year. Jerry was a member of Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church.

Jerry was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Iris Ozell Tucker, Ernest Patterson, Efford Patterson, Avery Patterson, David Patterson, and Linda Faye Smith. He was also preceded in death by his Mother-in-Law, Haldren T. Davidson; by his Sisters-in-Law, Priscilla D. Rankin and Annie M. Davidson; and by his Brothers-in-Law, James M. Davidson and Theodore R. Davidson, Jr..

Jerry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mildred Davidson Patterson, and his daughter, Jacquelyn Patterson, both of Statesville. He is also survived by his sister, Alice Patterson Summers, of Cleveland, North Carolina and by his brother, Millard E. Patterson, of Las Vegas, Nevada. A host of nieces and nephews also survive Jerry.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Cleveland. Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry's nephews and great-nephews and flower bearers will be his nieces and great-nieces.
