Mary Ann was born on April 29, 1942 in Iredell County to the late Claude Freeman Hall and Lala Pauline Martin Hall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Hall.
Mary Ann was a faithful Christian whose heart was devoted to the Lord’s work. She was a long-time member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Olin. The Lord gifted her with musical talents and served as the church choir director and pianist. She was very active in many church ministries and enjoyed advocating for the Pregnancy Resource Center of Statesville.
In her free time, she loved to watch her grandchildren play ball, gardening flowers, mowing the lawn, and being outdoors in the sun.
Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 54 years, Barry Sloan; sons, Jeff (Trisha) Sloan, Steven (Sonya) Sloan, Danny (Michelle) Sloan; and Michael (Brooke) Sloan; grandchildren; Daniel (Kelli) Melton, Brittany (Tyler) Melton, Lucas Sloan, Meryl Sloan, Samuel Sloan, Haley Sloan, Brinley Sloan, Salem Sloan, Elizabeth Fox, and Hayleigh Dillow; sister-in-law, Pat Hall, nephew, Brian (Connie) Hall, Ryan and Jonathan, and niece, Krista (Josh) Hance, Aiden and Mykaela.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, February 6, 2019 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Olin. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Dancy III, Rev. Byron Allison, and Rev. Daniel Melton officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery.
