Helen Saunders Cline

CATAWBA- Helen S. Cline, 88, went home to be with the Lord and her family on December 15, 2016.

Born September 29, 1928 in Catawba County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Pearl Saunders. She was a loving and caring mother, "Mamaw", and sister. She enjoyed meeting and serving patrons at Julia’s Talley House in Troutman for many years. Helen loved her sons, grandsons and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them and her extended family.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by husband, Marvin W. Cline; five brothers and three sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Mickey (Jenny) Cline and Randy (Julietta) Cline; grandsons, Josh (Tracy) Cline and Joe (Dana) Cline; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Kaitlin, Gage, Jackson and Andy Cline; brother, Kenneth (Mary-Lou) Saunders; special niece, Joyce Wooten and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Celebration of Helen's Life will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 2pm at Olivet Baptist Church in Long Island, NC with Pastor Matt Rummage officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm Tuesday, at the church.

A special thanks to the caregivers at Carillon Assisted Living in Newton for all the love and care they gave Helen this past year.
