Eula Mae Templeton Brown

Born in Iredell County on September 10, 1924, she was the daughter of the late William Clyde Templeton and Ruby Redmond Templeton.

Mrs. Brown graduated from Union Grove High School, and married her husband of 62 years, Carl Bristol Brown, in August of 1946. He preceded her in death on February 18, 2008.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lois Goforth and her adopted brother, Clarence Mitchell.

Mrs. Brown loved spending time with her family, working on the family farm, gardening and caring for her animals. She was a member of Grassy Knob Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and sang in the church choir for many years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Carolyn B. (Zeb) Barker of Olin; her granddaughter, Carla Sipes Warner of Statesville; sisters, Gwennie Howard of Union Grove, Lunelle (Harold) Turner of Kernersville, Clyde Wilson of Troutman, Brenda Thompson of Philo, Illinois and extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home on Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM.

The funeral service celebrating Eula’s life will be held at Grassy Knob Baptist Church on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Scott Cheveney and Edward Shumaker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
