I was so blessed to have known don in the last years of his life. he loved his dogs, and the last one I saw with him was his great dane.he had a wonderful and kind heart.he will be missed greatly by his friend donna at spinnaker bay .every time I'm on my condo balcony he is in my thoughts and prayers.  donna george

I'm sitting here thinking about Don and going through the many college memories in which he is such a large part of and even though I'm sad I can't help but smile because Don could always make me smile.  My sympathies to his family and I hope you find peace in knowing he is no longer in pain.  Rest in peace Don you will never be forgotten and will always be missed.

My sympathies for the loss of your son, Don.  He was a great athlete who had an infectious smile.  I'm glad to know he's in a place without pain.  I met him though a friend of a friend, and he pulled me into a softball team where the core members are still playing today.  I'll never forget his zest for his teams!

Don and I met at the bus stop on the first day of high school and became close friends.  We went to many Cubs, Bulls, and Bears games together and also worked our first job together.  He was the most passionate Cubs fan I have ever met.  We shared a lot of good times in high school and I have many positive memories of him. I am very sorry to hear of his passing and would like to extend my deepest condolences.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Don.  I went to college with Don and drove to Chicago one weekend with him our freshman year of college along with Mike and Ronnie.  I had a wonderful and fun conversation for over an hour with with him probably in December of 2015.  He had character and wit.  He was gracious and kind.  I wish you some sense of peace in knowing he has been uplifted from his illness and now will lie in rest. Growing up Donald was my best friend, a brother to me and his family was like a second family to me. It was a magical, happy and amazing time. I want Tom, Dianne and Janice to know how much Donald meant and that time in my life with him meant. I will never ever forget those times or my dear friend and his family. They are some of the greatest memories in my life. You are all in my thoughts and heart.

To Don's family...I am so very sorry for your loss. I met Don about 6 years ago when he was walking Mesa past the back of my house. I had 2 pugs at the time and said hello and we chatted briefly, then we always talked afterwards. He used to bring Mesa up to my fence  and  he would always play and talk to my dogs. He and Mesa used to play ball on my empty lot next to my house. He was a lovely man. I hadn't seen him in a while and worried that something had happened to him or Mesa, I knew he was in and out of the hospital a lot.  I saw him about 2 months ago and he told me Mesa had passed away and I told him one of my pugs did also. We both cried. That was the last time I saw him. I will remember Don fondly. You are in my prayers.

I know there are no comforting words when we lose someone near & dear to our hearts. I had the pleasure or knowing Don & Mesa for just a short period of time, I loved them both and  my heart will be forever changed because of them!

From the first day I met Don we became instant friends. He earned the nickname Junior because he quickly caught up to us seasoned kitchen designers but was far younger. We played racquetball together, mountain biked, and both liked the Bears and the Cubs. Junior will be missed but never forgotten. I was glad to have known him and call him my friend.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
