Tara Melanie Classens Harrod

Tara was born in Statesboro and lived all of her life in Bulloch County. She was a 1982 graduate of Statesboro High School and was of the Catholic faith. Tara enjoyed the outdoors, especially being on the beach and boating in the ocean. She also enjoyed doing crafts, gardening and spending time with her family and friends and anytime that she could wear her flip-flops. Tara was preceded in death by her mother, Melanie W. Classens.

Tara is survived by her son, Eric Jonathan McKinney, Jr. of Nevils; daughters, Melanie Virginia “Ginny” McKinney and Jason Pierce of Nevils and Brandi Nicole Beasley and her fiancé David French of Nevils; sisters, Anne M. Horn of Bloomingdale and Ellen A. Jones and her husband, James of Hilton Head Island, SC; brothers, Michael J. Classens of Statesboro; Frank R. Classens and his wife, Tammy of Columbia, MO and John T. Classens and his wife, Belinda of Statesboro; grandson, Andrew French of Nevils; uncle and aunt, John E. and Mary Alice “Mimi” Warwick of Bartlett, IL; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends 3:00 to 4:00 PM Saturday, July 11, 2015 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, July 11, 2015 in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Mr. G. A. Malone officiating.
