Robina "Ruby" Roberts

Mrs. Roberts was a born in Glasgow, Scotland, moved to the United States in 1952 and had lived in Statesboro since 1974. She retired from Georgia Southern University, after 18 years of service, where she was an Administrative Assistant. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 90-Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered at the St. Joseph’s Home for Boys. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Robina McCabe, her husband, George Fred Roberts, her brother, Reverend John McCabe and her sister, Mary Sanders.

She is survived by 3 sons, G. Fred Roberts and his wife, Sandy of Cairo, GA; Steven Andrew “Andy” Roberts and his wife, Linda of Guyton and John Forrest Roberts and his wife, Melissa of Victorville, CA; 7 grandchildren, Jessica Brown, Carly Roberts, Trey Roberts, Anna Roberts, John Roberts, Jacob Roberts and Andrea Roberts, 2 great grandchildren, Will Brown and Brianna Brown.

The family will receive friends 5:00 – 6:00 PM Friday, June 6, in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.

Memorial service will be held 6:00 PM Friday, June 6, in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with the Reverend Douglas K. Clark officiating.
