Patricia Anne Gullickson passed away on Saturday, November 25th at home surrounded by family. Patricia was born on April 7, 1934 to the late Mary Gillen and Frank Reilly. She grew up in Park Slope, Brooklyn as the second eldest of six siblings. Patricia attended St. Francis Xavier grammar school and graduated from Prospect Heights High School where she participated in their co-op program working for Equitable Life. She worked as a representative for the New York Telephone Company, leaving this position to embark on her most important role as a dedicated mother in 1958. She spent the last 25 years of her career working for New York State with the Unemployment Office and the Department of Motor Vehicle until she retired in 1995.
In 1958, she married her loving husband Robert Gullickson and eventually moved to Westerleigh to begin their life together. They settled into Castleton Corners to raise their beautiful family of five children where they have resided for the last 50 years. Pat and Bob shared a love of golf and bowling, and they played together through the years in their marriage. They were both fond of dogs and trained many loyal family pets together, but none more special to Pat than her beloved Tara. Pat loved vacationing with her family, enjoying trips to upstate New York visiting Brandt Lake and Eagle Lake in the Poconos, as well as many treasured summers at Long Beach Island. She was also an avid crocheter for her grandchildren, making them countless gifts over the years. Her family was the center of her heart, and nothing made her more happy than being with them.
She was predeceased by her son, Lt. Joseph P. Gullickson (Naoemi) FDNY who died heroically on September 11th, 2001, loving husband Bob, sisters Mary (Sissy) and Margaret (Peggy), and brother Frank. She is survived by her sisters Joanne Driscoll (John) and Kathleen O'Shea (Joseph), her four children Bobby (Donna), Thomas, Patricia, and Ralph (Tracy), and her 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 27th from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at Harmon Funeral Home 571 Forest Ave. Staten Island, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday November 28th at St. Theresa's Church, 1632 Victory Blvd., S.I. 10314. Arrangements include a burial at St. Peter's Cemetery.
