Gregg attended Sacred Heart grade school, and was proud that he sung with their chorus at the 1964 New York World’s Fair. He also attended Msgr. Farrell High School and Curtis High School. He obtained an Associate Degree from Staten Island Community College, before taking a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Louisiana.
Gregg had various jobs ranging from working with the Snuggies at Sailors Snug Harbor, working with the residents of Willowbrook, and as a paraprofessional for the NYC department of Education. He ultimately became a MTA bus operator for 26 years and was a proud union member. Gregg was also very proud of being one of the founders of WSIA, College of Staten Island’s FM radio station, where he deejayed for several years.
Gregg had a self sacrificing spirit, he once jumped into the East River in the middle of winter to save a drowning man, and took down a mugger and held him until the police came. He had a wicked sense of humor, was wildly compassionate, and proud of his Irish heritage. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Predeceased by his loving parents Thomas and Regina Culley. He is survived by his loving wife, Pauline, his brother, Lawrence, his sister, Jan, his many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. May Gregg’s memory be eternal.
