Catherine A. O'Brien

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Catherine (Cathy) Ann O’Brien, a cherished and beloved member of our family, who passed away peacefully on December 6th, 2024, at the age of 77. She was preceded in death by her Mother Eleanor O’Brien and sister Janet O’Brien. Loving sister to Jay O’Brien and his wife Debrah, loving aunt to Andiona Grimaldi and loving great aunt to Gabriella Grimaldi, as well as many cousins and close friends.

Catherine attended Our Lady of Good Council Grammer School, St. Louis Academy, Pleasant Plains Staten Island. After high school she worked for Chubb Insurance company and was with Chubb unit 2009.

Known for her warmth, kindness and sense of humor, Catherine will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories, especially her love for the Ladies Ancient order of Hibernians. She held positions as County President and Division President. Currently she held the position of Irish Historian. A Devout Catholic, attended Saint Cecelia Church in Iselin, New Jersey. Her compassionate spirit and unwavering commitment to helping others will be deeply missed.

Catherine’s favorite time of the year was when she vacationed in Oak Island North Carolina with her niece Andiona and great niece Gabriella. So many cherished memories were made and will forever stay in our hearts.
