Franklin (Frank) Lee Smith, 81, of Iron Station, NC passed away June 6, 2024. Frank passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Huntington, WV August 2, 1942. Frank attended area schools graduating from Huntington East High School and Huntington East High Trades School (Electricity) in 1960. Upon completing high school Frank enlisted in the USAF serving in Alaska, on a remote site, and Pease AFB, Portsmouth, NH. He was employed with GE Plastics for 32 years and retired from there in 1998. Following retirement Frank did construction and remodeling. Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather. He was a kind man and a gentleman. He had a passion for hunting and fishing. Frank was a Methodist by faith.
Frank was predeceased by his mother, Elva Neff and father, John Albert Smith. Also, four half- brothers and four half-sisters.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Linda; Daughter, Tracy Piedmont (Michael); Son, Terry Smith (Jacqueline) Iron Station, NC and Son, Jerry Smith (Sandra) Belpre, OH. Granddaughters Chastity Love (Darryl), Iron Station, NC; Ashley Smith, Jacksonville, NC and Grandson Tyler Smith, Iron Station, NC; great granddaughters, Brynleigh and Raelynn Love, Iron Station, NC. Also, four step-grandchildren, six step-great grandchildren and four step-great great grandchildren. We would like to thank Via Health Partners, Lincoln County for their compassion and care toward our loved one.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024 from 12:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. at Sunset Memory Gardens at 1934 Dupont Rd, Parkersburg, WV 26101. A memorial service to celebrate Frank's life will be at 2:00 P.M. with the burial to follow all services.
