Josephine Donato

Josephine A. Donato (Phine), 77, of Stamford, CT passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on the evening of September 4 after a brief battle with lung cancer. Josephine was born May 15, 1938 in Greenwich, CT & attended Greenwich High School. On October 10, 1959 she married the love of her life Joseph Donato who predeceased her in March of 1998. She is also predeceased by her parents Anna (Perri) Costaregni & John Cerone & her sisters Betty DeLorco & Rose Persico. Josephine is survived by her daughters Debbie Gladstone (Dave), Ann Geter (Ralph) & Joanne Donato, seven grandchildren Luke, David, Deanna, Joshua, Sydnie, Elyshia, Nicole, many cousins, nieces & nephews. She’s also survived by our “Angel” her sister-in-law Flo Scenna who remained by her side until the very end. Josephine was a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, working out at the Tully Center, trips to the casino & having coffee with her “Donut Delight” friends. Her family would like to thank her caring aids Daphane & Nellie who took exceptional care of Josephine while she was at home. A memorial will be held on Sunday September 13 at Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, CT from 4-5:30pm with a memorial service from 5:30-6pm. Burial will be private.
