William Charles Kronkowski, "Bill", also known as "Ski", passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Stamford Hospital, surrounded by his loving wife, Debby and their three children, Melissa, Ian and Derek. Born in Brooklyn, New York on April 5, 1960, Bill was the son of Andrew and Agnes Kronkowski. He was predeceased by a sister, Patricia. Besides his immediate family, Bill is survived by his brother, Andy, sister-in-law, Mimi and nephew Kevin, as well as his brother-in-law, Ken McCormick, his wife DeeDee and two nieces, Kate and Mary Rose. Bill and Debby moved to Stamford in 1995, where he worked for Access Securities. He is best known as "Coach" for spending much of the last 15 years as a mentor, manager and coach to hundreds of children as part of Stamford American Little League. He was an avid fan of the New York Mets, Rangers and Oakland Raiders and hosted many football parties for everyone's enjoyment. Bill was also a lifetime member of the GJOA
(Norwegian Soccer) Club in Brooklyn, where he will be sorely missed. He also loved everything about the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas. Bill was a mean poker player and enjoyed many card games with his buddies. Bill had a special zest and enthusiasm for life and was truly one of the most caring and generous people to those who knew and loved him.
Calling hours will be 12:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cecilia's Church, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT on Monday, July 23, 2012 @ 11:00 am.
