Shirley Mae Taylor

Known for her sweet loving spirit, Shirley was born on October 19, 1941 in Alexandria, VA, the daughter of the late Percy Jennings and Dorothy Nettie (Spencer) Robertson. She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church in Richardsville, VA, when her husband, James was pastor, and she would spend time as a Sunday School teacher and a volunteer in the Nursery. Shirley enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, and spending time with her family.

She married James Taylor on November 1, 1960 in Alexandria, VA.

Shirley is survived by her husband, James; sisters, Willie Rose Barrows and her husband, John, Betty Jean Kriegel and her husband, James; brother, David Kermit Robertson and his wife Eleanor; daughters, Sarah Reilly and her husband, Raymond of Eustis, FL, Karen Furman and her husband, Mark of Round Hill, VA; son, Timothy Taylor of Stafford; grandchildren, James Reilly of Valley View, TX, Kelly Reilly and his wife, Cheska of Orlando, FL, Austin Furman of Round Hill, VA and Alaina Furman of Cleveland, OH; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Peters and Kayden Reilly; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Percy, her mother, Dorothy, brothers Jesse and Amos, and sisters Frances, Lorraine, and Ruth.

Family and friends are welcome to gather for a visitation for Shirley will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM and a celebration of life from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, Virginia 22554. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM, Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, VA 22172.
