Sharon K Hicks

She was born August 1, 1949 in Farmers City, Illinois to the late, Helen Leota (Gruber) and her husband, Ernest C. Stanley. She married Ray E. Hicks on March 7, 1966 in Morningside, MD.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ray E. Hicks; and her children, Ray C. Hicks (Terri), Penny Hicks, Veronica Hess (Brian) and Michael Hicks.

Sharon was a grandmother of five. Jessica Hicks, David Hess (Kevlyn), Dylan Hess, Ashley Powell, and Buddy Sabins.

She will also be greatly missed by her siblings, Debbie (Tucker) of Florida, Ronald Edmonds of Florida and Michael Edmonds of Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Vonda Thornton (husband Tommy).

Sharon was a retired bookkeeper and she loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved flowers and gardening, always having a beautiful array of flowers. She enjoyed sewing, sunning at the beach or at the pool and she also enjoyed baking and creating her own renditions of recipes.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00pm-3:00pm on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel.
