Lily Jerlene Lewis

Born October 31, 1946 to the late Rev Walter and Bessie (Penley) Wampler in Buchanan County, Virginia. She was one of 9 children. She graduated Council High School in 1965 and left the area to move to Ashland, Virginia and then to Northern Virginia where she met her husband. She retired from the Department of Energy after 20 years of Federal Government Service.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, her brothers Carlis Wampler and Manuel Wampler and sister Monnie Duty and her husband Jerry Lewis and her son Jerry (Slugger) Lewis.

Survivors include her brothers Gillis Wampler, Ronald & Wanda Wampler. Her sisters Karen Wnukoski, Inez and Jerry Boothe, Cheryl and John Campisi. Her children Steve Lewis and his wife Kim, Christy Mckinney and her husband Darin and Tamara George and her husband Michael. Grandchildren Stephanie Lewis (Josh Leatherwood), Stevie Lewis (Renee), Kenny Lewis, Aulin George (Jackie), Ethan George (Nicole), Madison Henry (Ben), Joshua Lewis (Zoë), Sara George, Caitlin McKinney, Jacob Mckinney. Her great grandchildren Arabella Lewis, Eloise George, Killian George, Leo Lewis, Adriana Lewis, Izzy Henry and Preslee Henry, and the last one that made it just in time for her to meet Hudson Lewis. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews that were so special to her.

Jerlene showed love to everyone, friend and family, and you never left her home without a full stomach that she would work so hard to prepare. Her home that her and Jerry built was everyone's home. Everyone always had a place to stay and eat. She was Mother to many and Granny to several more.

Her motto through all of her life is "She's a winner either way...if she stays here with her family or if she goes to her heavenly home." She won...she made it to her eternal home with God. And she wants everyone to meet her in Heaven.

Mullins and Thompson of Stafford will be handling the arrangements which will be the viewing from 10am until the graveside service at 12 officiated by her brother Ronald Wampler at Stafford Memorial Park.
