Leslie (Lee) was born in Rochester, New York on February 26,1946 to the late Martin and Winifred (Hagerty) Sauerhafer. She spent her life caring for those she loved, and raising her family with her beloved husband, Michael. You could often hear her beautiful voice singing throughout the house, and she thoroughly enjoyed playing her accordion. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Charles Cox. They were married August 21,1974 in the Manti Utah Temple, and just celebrated their 49th anniversary.
Lee is also survived by her children Lynley Cox, Eileen Cox, Cecily Boateng (and husband Michael), Edith Wilson (and husband Drew), Trudy Cox, Timothy Cox (and wife Melissa), and Kanani Cox, her 16 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren and also by her sister Lucy Briggs, and her brother Martin Sauerhafer (and wife Kim).
The funeral will be held at 9:30am Friday, September 8, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 20 Boscobel Rd Fredericksburg, VA 22405.
