John H. Garber, 82, of Stafford, VA passed away on September 23, 2022 at his home.
John was born in Arlington, VA on February 17, 1940, and was the son of Harry and Caroline Garber.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Susan M. Garber, his daughter, Charleen M. Garber, and his brother, Jim Garber. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Cheryl Garber, Crystal Bratti, and Anthony Bratti, and his four great grandchildren, Brianna, John, Ethan, and Kaiden.
He is predeceased by his parents, Harry and Caroline Garber and his sister, Mary Garber.
John graduated from Wakefield High School in 1958 and then served in the Army for 6 months active duty until he returned to State Control as a member of the Army National Guard for 22 years. He also worked for GSA for 33 years as an Elevator mechanic and later became a Security Guard for Securitas.
He enjoyed spending time around family and friends, but really enjoyed driving around to see Elvis impersonator shows with his wife, Susan.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled on Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 1pm – 6pm at the Brooke Volunteer Fire Department located at 222 Andrew Chapel Rd. Stafford, VA 22554.
