Frank would call himself a simple man, but those around him saw it differently. His military service in Vietnam had a great impact on his life, but Frank would say that his life truly blossomed when a beautiful young lady joined him in marriage becoming Mrs. Helen Battle on November 7, 1971. From this union three children were born; Andre, Jeroce (Lee), and Kevin Battle...he also had one son from his previous marriage, Tyrone Battle whom we all love.
Frank’s life centered around his legacy…his seven grandchildren; Quanisha, Shaniqua, Daquan, Jaquan, Davon, Breanna, and Marcus Battle, and his two great grandchildren; Avery Battle, and Jace Battle. Frank was known as “Pops” by it seems like everyone’s son or daughter. Nationality didn’t matter in his home. Pops didn’t know a stranger, he was just kind hearted and generous. He loved to laugh, tell jokes and loved to make everyone else laugh. He will be missed by many.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents; Dave and Annie Battle and his siblings; David Battle III, Janie Lee Underdue, and Fannie Susan McCallum.
He is survived by one sibling, Clara Sherrod, his wife Helen, seven grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Frank will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 9:30am to 10:30am at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel. His Celebration of Life will start at 10:30am and burial will follow at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, VA.
