Saramma Joseph (also lovingly known as Moni), wife of Joseph Pailo went to be with the Lord on Sunday, the September 22, 2024 at 7:46 a.m. surrounded by family, at her residence in Houston, Texas.
She was born on September 05, 1946, to Varughese Varughese and Saramma, Vaichiaparambil family in Manarcad, Kottayam District of Kerala state in India, as the fifth of nine siblings.
After her high school education from Manarcad, she joined a Nursing School at Akola, Maharashtra state in India in 1965. She worked as a staff nurse at Akola until her marriage.
She was married to Joseph Pailo of Thannimoottil family, Thottackada, Kottayam on July 09, 1973. God blessed them with three children, the oldest Mini, married to Reny Korah, Dallas – they have two children, Joey and Nicholas; the second daughter Jayni, married to Vinson George, Dallas – they have two children, Madeline and Eliana; and a son Jason Joseph.
She worked with St. Mary’s Hospital, Manarcad after her marriage until she migrated to the United States in 1975 and lived in Dallas; Northshore, Houston and Shadow Creek, Pearland, Texas. She served the people of Harris County as a Registered ICU Nurse until her retirement in Ben Taub Hospital (Harris County Hospital District), Houston.
She was a loving wife, devoted to her husband and family, a tireless mother and grandmother, a loving sister to the body of Christ. She was in fellowship with the saints of St. Gregorios Orthodox Church, Houston.
She is survived by her loving husband Joseph Pailo, their daughters Mini Korah and Jayni George, their son Jason Joseph and their grandchildren, her siblings Mariamma Kuruvilla and family (Thiruvanchiyoor), Philipose Varughese and family (Manarcad), Achamma Zakaria and family (Manarcad), Rachael John and family (Meenadom), Susamma Joseph and family (Meenadom), Raju Varughese and family (Houston), Lizymole Chacko and family, Pearland; brother in law Issac Pailo and family, Pearland; sisters in law Mary Kurien and family (Kottayam), and Achamma Kuruvila (Missouri City).
A visitation for Saramma will be held on Friday, September 27 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at St. Gregorios Orthodox Church, 13218 Player Street in Houston. Those unable to attend the visitation, a livestream will be accessible by selecting the “Join Livestream” icon on the visitation service below.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 28 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Gregorios Orthodox Church, 13218 Player Street in Houston. Those unable to attend the funeral service, a livestream will be accessible by selecting the “Join Livestream” icon on the funeral service below.
The committal service will follow, via funeral procession to Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road in Houston.
