Patricia Ann Green Pratt, age 72, passed away on February 28, 2023 at her home in Houston, Texas. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur Harden Pratt in 2013 and her parents, Milton and Doris Green of Knoxville, Tennessee. She is survived by her children; Heather Elizabeth Pratt, Ryder Jabez Pratt (wife, Jenny) and Kimberly Anne Silvette (husband, Richard). She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Pat also leaves a brother James Green in Chattanooga, Tennessee. A lover of animals, she always had many rescue cats and dogs throughout the years. She was greatly accomplished in every aspect of her life and thoroughly kind-hearted. She graduated from Young High School, Knoxville, Tennessee, with many honors. Her favorite activities were being a high school cheerleader for all four years, academic letter achiever, drama club and Miss Key Club. Pat was a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she was also a UT football cheerleader for her beloved Volunteers, a member of ROTC for 4 years, and received the highest honor bestowed on her as a member of the UT Mortar Board for all around excellence. When the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, established its MBA Program, Pat was the first woman to be asked to attend on a full scholarship and graduate with an MBA Degree. Never missing an opportunity to meet people, Pat was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority (ADII). In her later years she was honored to be asked to serve on the ADII Foundation, which she enjoyed immensely.
She was married to Arthur (Art) Harden Pratt for over 30 years. Together they built one of the most successful consumer research companies CCR/ Creative Consumer Research in Houston and throughout the South servicing thousands of clients.
Full of ideas, energy, drive and creativity, Pat also had a beautiful artistic side. She studied modern dance under the famed Isadora Duncan, an innovative pioneer of modern contemporary dance in New York City. Her start in modern dance was under Dr. Dorothy Floyd and Irina Linn of Dancer’s Studio in Knoxville. Gifted in choreography, Pat later moved to Jacksonville, Florida to manage and choreograph a renowned modern dance troupe. It was in Jacksonville that she met her future husband, Art. He had traveled to watch the troupe in hopes of signing the company as clients. Instead, it was love at first sight for both Art and Pat. They married soon after and settled in Houston to grow CCR/ Creative Consumer Research. They were a dynamic duo. With Art’s superior business mind combined with Pat’s enthusiasm, drive and business marketing background, the company was destined for success.
In later life, Pat and Art established the Green Scholarship Program of Los Cabos, MX in honor of Pat’s parents who advocated for every child to have a proper education. Together with their trusted friend and with the leadership of Margarita Holquin, they helped more than 250 Los Cabos students who otherwise would not have been able to afford college, to achieve a college education in the fields of their dreams through various programs available in Los Cabos, MX.
A memorial service will be on held Saturday, March 18, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home , 12555 South Kirkwood Road Stafford.
