KATHY THORMAHLEN SPRECHER, age 54, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011. She was born on February 17, 1957, in Beeville, TX, to Jarvis Henry and Doris Shepard Thormahlen. Kathy had a strong desire to help people, following her own struggles and lifelong battles with cancer. She decided to become a Radiation Technologist and Radiation Therapist, and worked for both The Methodist Hospital and M D Anderson Cancer Center. A true survivor and her fearless fight, Kathy’s passion for her church and family; along with her love of music; her beautiful voice; her wonderful sense of humor, that remained even until her very last day, will always be remembered. Kathy loved making scrapbooks and greeting cards, later in life she even learned how to tap dance. She was very proud of her German Lutheran Heritage, and has been an active member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Missouri City since 1982, and a member of the Bell Choir. Kathy was preceded in death by her sister, Julie Thormahlen. She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Glenn; daughter, Leslie Doty and husband Daniel; grandson, Grayson; parents, Jarvis Henry and Doris Thormahlen; sisters, Sandy Thormahlen, and Chris Archbold and husband Scott; her two beagles, Abby and Candy; and numerous other loving relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at New Hope Lutheran Church, 1424 FM 1092, Missouri City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope Lutheran Church, for the El Buen Pastor Lutheran Church Fund in El Salvador.
