John, 49, of Missouri City, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August, 9, 2017 from his two-year battle with advanced prostate cancer. Born in Alberta, Canada to Stanley and Janina Dycha, he lived most of his life in Edmonton, Alberta, and spent the last 11 years in Missouri City, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Darcy, his daughters, Emily (17) and Kate (15), his mother, his sister Maria Dycha, and by many other family members and friends.
John was a wonderful husband, an amazing father, and a loving son, brother, and uncle. He was devoted to his family, his friends, and his work. To know John, was to know you had someone you could count on. As an engineer, he was a brilliant problem solver. As a man, he always cared. John left a beautiful mark on this world. His two daughters were his greatest pride, and are the truest testament to the man that he was and the way he lived.
A celebration of John's life will commence on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 10:30 am at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 3100 Sweetwater Blvd., Sugar Land, Texas, 77479. A reception will immediately follow the service.
We are grateful for the care and wonderful support John and the family received from all at MD Anderson over the past two years.
