A resident of Houston, Texas for over 45+ years. Jacqui was born in New Orleans, Louisiana.
She was a proud graduate of Xavier University Preparatory High School and Xavier University
of Louisiana. Immediately upon college graduation Jacqui left New Orleans exploring the world
determined to make her mark. She was employed as a United Airline stewardess for many
years before entering the insurance and Human Resources fields. Co-Owner Of Assured
Ambulance Services.
Preceded in death by her parents Dorothy C. and Chester Hurley Jr.; maternal and paternal
grandparents; aunts, Nancy C. Jackson, Naomi C. Lewis, Althea Canty, Maggie C. Ambeau and
Hazel H. Webster; Uncles, Elvin Canty, William Canty, Alvin Hurley and Eldrige Hurley.
Mother-in-law, Anna Duvernay, Brother-in-law Carl DeGruy along with several cousins and other
relatives.
Jacqui is survived by her loving husband of 42 years Gregory Duvernay; her brother, Terrence
Hurley Sr.; nephew, Terrence (T.J.)Hurley Jr.(Vanessa), nieces, LaToya Hurley, Biannca Hurley;
Sherri Rivas(Robert); Aunt/Godmother, Vertlee H. Washington (Baton Rouge, Louisiana);
godchild, Dionne C. Brown (New Orleans, Louisiana) and a host of cousins, great nieces and
nephews, longtime friends-Janice M. Coleman, Lou Gould, Helen Young, Cordelia Foster, Vickie
and Tyrone Byrd, Ricky and Yvette Smith, neighbors, other relatives and friends. Her beautiful
and precious boy Boxer Yogi.
Family and Friends are invited to the Celebration of Life Service on Friday, September 20,
2024 for 11:00a.m. at Windsor Village Church, 6011 W. Orem, Houston,TX 77085. Visitation will
begin at 10:00a.m.. Elder Isadora Jackson, officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park
Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston,TX 77077.
