Donald was born on April 6, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois to Arthur and Elfrieda Krueger.
Donald is survived by his wife, Marlene Holmes Krueger, his sister, Lois Lindstrand (Keith), son, Scott Krueger (Kim), daughters-in-law: Christine Krueger and Diana Krueger, Grandsons: Ryan (Melissa), Kyle (Stephanie), Taylor, and Evan (Hannah) Krueger, granddaughters: Rachel Kent (Stephen), Jessica, and Nicole Krueger, and great-grandchildren: Annabelle, Margaret, Lacy, David, and Matthew Krueger, and Ava Kent.
He was preceded in death by his sister Gladys Krueger, brother Fredrick Krueger, parents, Arthur and Elfrieda Krueger, and sons Stephen and Stanley Krueger.
Donald married the beautiful Marlene Rae Holmes on June 12th, 1953. Donald loved his family, was a great husband and father, and wanted nothing more than to give his wife and three sons the best life possible, taking on multiple jobs to provide for them, never complaining. Marlene and Donald were founding members of Faith Lutheran Church in Carpentersville, Illinois, where they passed their faith to their boys. He loved music, played the alto and baritone sax in concert and jazz bands from high school well into his 80’s. He enjoyed attending jazz and organ concerts, whether live or recorded. He always told his kids he loved them, had “hugs for everyone”, and anytime his boys would thank him for a helping hand, he said, “What are papa’s for?!”.
