Betty Noreen Norberg, of St. Petersburg Beach, Florida, passed away on September 3, 2023, after a brief illness. Betty was born on July 12, 1925, in Rockford, Illinois, to parents Karl and Helen Norberg.
Betty graduated from The University of Illinois with a degree in Advertising and Marketing. After moving to St. Pete Beach in the 50’s, Betty went to work at the Florida Power Corporation where she had very successful career as the Advertising Manager for over 35 years.
Betty, and her mother, Helen, were instrumental in the development and support of the St. Pete Beach Public Library as well as the Pass-A-Grille Beach Community Church.
Betty worked tirelessly and selflessly for, and was dedicated to, her family for her entire life. Betty was a constant caregiver for her father who had suffered with Parkinsons Disease for many years.
Betty was always active and engaged, and as recently as her 98th birthday party on July 12th, she had enjoyed going out to dinner with her family and friends, at one of her favorite restaurants.
Betty is survived by her nephew Karl Norberg (Pam Gleichman), niece Kyle Norberg (Tom Handcock), great nephews Hillman Norberg and Luigi Scarcelli, great niece Kim Sutton and the countless friends that she developed over her lifetime of 98 years.
A Celebration of Life gathering will take place on October 9th at 11:00 AM, at Beach Memorial Chapel, 301 Corey Avenue, St. Pete Beach, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Beach Public Library, 365 73rd Avenue, St. Pete Beach, Florida, 33706 or the Pass-A-Grille Beach Community Church, 107 16th Avenue, St. Pete Beach, Florida, 33706.
