She leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to her family and community.
A graduate of Bethel College, Sandy became a Medical Technologist. It was at Bethel that she met her husband, Tom. He proposed to her during a picnic on the Bethel campus in Arden Hills, with a faun watching over them.
Tom and Sandy moved to Faribault in 1968 as Tom was hired as a science teacher at Faribault Junior High School. As a devoted mother, she raised two children, Charles and Cynthia, nurturing their passions and encouraging them to follow their dreams. Tom and Sandy raised their family in Faribault and eventually moved to Saint Paul in 2003 to be closer to family.
Sandy found joy in her creative pursuits. She was a talented piano teacher, sharing her love for music with countless students over the years, instilling in them the joy and discipline that comes from learning an instrument. She also loved playing the accordion from a very young age. She painted pumpkins for 30 years for her friend, Steve Twiehoff, at Twiehoff Gardens. This tradition brought smiles to many and showcased her artistic spirit.
Sandy was deeply involved in her faith community, dedicating her time and energy to the Christian Women’s Club. She served as chairperson and area representative, working tirelessly to support and uplift women in her community, exemplifying her commitment to service and fellowship.
Sandra is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Merle Vernon Stone and Selma (Grimsrud) Stone and in-laws Delbert and Lucille (Carr) Guy.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Guy; her daughter, Cynthia (Abdulkadir) Ali, and their family, Ahmed, Abdulfatah, Jamaal and beloved Golden Retriever, Ginger; and her son, Charles (Dorothea) Guy, and their family, Auden and Evann.
A celebration of her life will be held at Wulff Funeral Home at 1485 White Bear Avenue in Saint Paul, MN on Friday, November 8th, at 11:00 AM, with visitation prior at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault, MN at 3:00 PM.
Sandra's warmth, smile, positivity, generosity, kindness, and unwavering faith will be remembered by all who knew her. She leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories, and her spirit will continue to inspire those whose lives she has touched.
