Gail Deanna Smith

Gail was a teacher for SPPS, teaching elementary students with a focus in ESL for nearly 40 years. Outside of teaching, Gail's sense of adventure took her to many places worldwide. A loving and caring person, Gail always put the needs of others before her own. Her deep faith and love of God made her a dedicated member of her church. She was devoted to her family and a large circle of friends.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Emma McKenzie, husband, Donald M. Smith and sister, Lynne K. Thompson.

She is survived by her children, Doug (Wendy) Smith and Lisa (Brent) Glowa; grandchildren, Jill (Adam) Edwinson, Elizabeth Smith (Sarah Kabes), Justin, Kyle (Liz) and Amanda Glowa; great-grandchild, McKenzie Edwinson; niece, Heidi Palms; nephew, David (Marcy) Palm and family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 18 from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at Wulff Funeral Home, 1485 White Bear Ave, St. Paul.. A funeral service will be on Tuesday, December 19 at 11:00 am with visitation starting at 10:00 am at First Lutheran Church, 463 Maria Ave, St. Paul. Private inurnment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery
