SAINT MARTINVILLE– A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Tamara Marie Skipper, age 54, at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Notre Dame Catholic Church. Fr. Abelardo Gabriel S.V.D. will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Michaels Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will take place at Notre Dame Catholic Church on Wednesday from 8:00 am until the time of services. A rosary will be prayed at 8:30 am.
A native and resident of St. Martinville, Ms. Skipper passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023 at her residence.
Tamara was a kind and generous woman who dedicated her time and efforts in service of others. She was a caregiver on so many different levels. Tamara was always there to check in on those in need on a daily basis. She would often make the rounds checking on people, helping with medications and food, and to simply be friendly and visit for a while. Tamara was a wonderful sister and she and her siblings were always there for one another. To her friends she was an awesome caregiver, babysitter, and friend. She will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her siblings Bridger Skipper Savoy (Dennis Sr), Nicolette Skipper Joseph (Stanford Sr), Roderick Skipper Sr, Jermaine Skipper (Shysa), Jamie Skipper (Natalie), and Crandall Skipper.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry Skipper Sr and Willie Mae Pete Skipper; and brother, Harry Skipper, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Roderick Skipper, Dennis Savoy Jr, Donzel Savoy, Joseph Skipper, Jr., Kervin Fontenette, and Dennis Savoy, Sr.
