Royal John Johnson Sr.

SAINT MARTINVILLE – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Royal John Johnson, Sr., age 62, at 12:00 pm Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Evangeline Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am on Wednesday and continue until service time on Thursday. The funeral home will remain open all night.

A native of West Wego and resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Johnson passed away at 7:42 pm on Monday, December 30, 2013 at his residence.

Mr. Johnson was a devoted husband to his wife Gloria for 42 years, he was a loving family man who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a dedicated church member of the Kingdom Hall of St. Martinville. Mr. Johnson was known as someone who was always willing to help others when he could. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Boutte Johnson of St. Martinville; sons, Royal John Johnson, Jr. of St. Martinville, Travis James Johnson and wife Robin of St. Martinville; daughters, Sue Ellen Caillier and husband Steve of Parks, Leah Lynn Johnson of St. Martinville; brother, Michael James Johnson of New Iberia; sisters, Sheila Horton of St. Martinville, Dianna Smith of St. Martinville, Sue Ellen Ford of Telico Plane, Tennessee, Tammie Moffit of New Iberia and thirteen Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorris Johnson and Anna Viator Johnson; sister, Linda Gale Hebert and brother, Richard Johnson.

Pallbearers will be Royal Johnson, Jr., Steve Caillier, Brandon Caillier, Taylor Johnson, Jared Michael Johnson, Michael Johnson, Tyler Johnson and Jody Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Johnson, Tori Johnson and Justin Caillier.
