Peggy Marie Shipp

Peggy Marie Shipp, age 94, of St. Louis, Missouri passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023. Peggy was born on August 28, 1928 to Edward and Mary (nee Lewis) Adams who have preceded her in death along with her beloved husband, Marlin “Durl” Shipp, her son and his wife, Daniel (Jackie) Shipp, and a son-in-law, Merle Redden.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children; Anna “Sally” Redden, Durle “Spencer” Shipp, and Tracey Shipp. She was an adoring grandmother to Mark, Ryan, Tonya, Rachael and Anthony, along with her ten great grandchildren. Peggy was an aunt, cousin, and a friend.

Peggy was a woman that loved her family. If you had the opportunity to visit her, you never left with an empty stomach. She was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker, and enjoyed cooking. Some of her greatest memories where taking the family camping, boating, and water skiing to Wappapello Lake and Clearwater Lake. When they settled in for the night, they could be found playing games and pinnacle. Peggy enjoyed watching television as she got older, especially “The Price is Right.”

A visitation for Peggy will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63125. Following the visitation, a funeral service will occur at 12:00 PM. Peggy will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery and Mausoleum, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63125.
