Ossi Pierotti

Ossi was the beloved husband of Anna Marie (nee' Biondi) Pierotti; devoted dad of Anita Kidd, Peter Pierotti, and Maria Pierotti; cherished Nonno of Atina (Andrew) Marquart, Peter Kidd, Nicholas Kidd, Matteo Kidd, Gianna Turek, and Luca Pierotti-Trost; loving great-grandfather of Frances and Louisa Marquart; dear brother-in-law of Fr. Lawrence H. Biondi, S.J.; loving uncle of Larry Biondi; and a dear friend to many in his lifetime.

Ossi was born in Piano di Coreglia, Lucca, Italy, on January 20, 1929, youngest child to Silvio and Rosina Pierotti. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Marina Pieri, Leda Dockstader, and his brother, Louis Pierotti. Ossi lived through World War II in Italy, at the front lines. Both the Allies and the Axis used the family home as resting stations throughout the war. Being a child, he remembers the comraderie between the various nationalities of the soldiers and actually has fond memories of those times. He served as a waiter in a very elite officers club for the Italian military.

Around 1952, he came to Canada and settled in Toronto. On a visit to Chicago, he met the love of his life, Anna Marie, and they were married April 4, 1959 in Chicago at Saint Peter Canisius. Together they raised their kids in Markham, Ontario.

Ossi was the consummate joker and had a great love for Italian sports cars, cigars, food, and anything Italian. He was very patient with his grandchildren and loved to tease and play with them. He was very successful in his career and was able to support his family in the way he had always hoped to.

He is missed every day by his family and will be missed forever by all who knew and loved him.
